Joyce McDonald currently serves as Vice-Chair of the Pierce County Council. She was first elected to public office in 1996 and served five very effective terms in the Washington State House of Representatives. Joyce championed the fight against crime and was recognized by Washington State police officers as Legislator of the Year for providing increased safety in our schools and communities, tighter sex offender laws, and tougher drunk driving and meth lab penalties. In addition to her advocacy for children, Joyce's priorities at the County and State levels have been maintaining a healthy economy, reducing property taxes, protecting seniors, and reducing traffic congestion. Joyce McDonald is a powerful advocate for our community who knows that “together, we can make Washington State a better place to live, work, and raise our families.”
